A few thoughts on creativity
I keep learning and re-learning these same two things about creativity:
- Everyone is participating in the ongoing process of creation, even if they don’t know it.
- A lot of creativity comes from struggle.
Things aren’t always as good as they should be. They’re broken, confusing, and often missing aspects that would make them better.
Struggling through the broken, confused, and missing things brings a creative person clarity. By working through these problems, they begin to understand them better, and the problems become better defined.
Clearly defined problems are more easily solved.
